Fredrik Forsberg with passion for Lean and Change Management

Fredrik, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I’m a 41 year old engineer with a passion for Lean and change management. I live in Gothenburg where I love to spend time with my friends and family. Good times is a combination of travel, good food and some kind of sport activities. I’m also a huge formula 1 fan who loves to follow races both on tv and in real life.

I have been working with improvement and change since I started my career in 2006 in the Aerospace industry. The engineering background made me embrace Six Sigma and Lean early. My Lean & Black Belt training brought a large toolbox that I still use daily. Working with change and improvements also highlighted the importance of people and I have led several change projects where culture and mindset is the key for success.

Moving into a consultant role, how will you support our clients?

I have been in different positions in large companies like Volvo Group, Akzo Nobel, Arla Foods and brings experience from their ways of working and different processes and manufacturing. The industries ranging from aircraft engine manufacturing to dairy industry has challenged me in how to approach and use my toolbox, this is a strength when entering new industries and clients. I have also developed a strong ability to tailor my approach from shopfloor to board room and always focus on the essential for the current audience. I’m looking forward to support our clients from hands-on usage of lean tools on the shop floor to  programs designed to change culture and behaviors across the organization.

What is the key to success with Lean in your view?

It’s important not to lose focus on the problem you are trying to solve. The process that we are set to improve must always be in the center. Many lose track and focus more on the tools and improvement process rather than the problem or the process to be improved. Focus on the problem, use facts and trust the people!
